"the yoga hut” is an intimate environment dedicated for personalised instruction in yoga. I offer yoga teaching to small groups to ensure attention is given for each student’s requirements. Instructing smaller groups allows time for me to ensure correct alignment of the body and for me to offer modifications to deepen or lighten the posture accordingly. My style of instructing is to encourage each student to explore their own yoga practice, guiding and gently releasing and opening the body with the use of the breath.
Yoga sessions consist of asanas (postures) pranayama (expansion of vital life force facilitated with the breath) meditation and savasana (relaxation). Please bring equipment with you, I can provide equipment if needed at “the yoga hut”, mats, blocks, bricks, belts, bolsters, blankets, eye pillows etc. |
I have trained with British Wheel of Yoga and have attained BWYQ 500 hour diploma, I am also a BWY Foundation Course Tutor, qualified Yin Yoga teacher and Reiki Master.

"Jayne always reminds us that yoga isn't a competition but a journey. But I really feel that I'm 'winning' my personal journey in Jayne's class."
"I found that Jayne's class is as much a workout for the mind as it is my body. The two go hand in hand."

- A bit about Jayne -
I am passionate about “yoga” in all aspects, from my own personal practice, to my studying, to the amazement at how a body and mind can change quite rapidly with a regular practice. I have found that my own yoga journey has been a life changing one, both physically, mentally and above all spiritually. I am dedicated to instructing others to the very best of my ability in a safe and respectful manner. I am a fully qualified instructor having achieved a 3 year 500 hour diploma, level four Ofqual degree with The British Wheel of Yoga. Prior to this I have completed a years foundation course with BWY, Essential Anatomy and Physiology for Yoga course and hold a recent EFAW certificate. As I am a member of BWY I also have Instructor Indemnity Insurance. I am a qualified Yoga Foundation Course Tutor for BWY. I am a qualified Yin Yoga teacher teaching a weekly Yin Yoga class and hold seasonal Yin Yoga Workshops, exploring aspects of TCM and how to nourish our meridians with the changing seasons. I am a Reiki Master healer, Reiki healing sessions offered in person or remotely. I have attended Ashram and silent meditation retreats. |
I teach a Hatha style of yoga, HATHA is a Sanskrit word that translates as, HA (sun) Pingala (masculine) and THA (moon) Ida (feminine), this is an all round practice including pranayama-yogic breathing techniques, asanas-postures, mudras-yogic gestures, shat karma cleansing/purification procedures, meditation, savasana-relaxation all of which harmonise the body mind and soul. I also incorporate Raja Yoga (royal) Patanjali Sutras and the 8 limbs of yoga, and Bhakti (devotional) chanting into my teachings.
The emphasis is upon the breath, relearning how to breathe to bring the body and the mind into a relaxed and harmonious place.
I weave into my lessons the philosophy of yoga using Vedic and Vedantic texts, such as, The Bhagavad Gita, The Upanishads, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and also Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
I encourage participants, to use the breath throughout their practice to stretch and relax into their postures to encourage gentle "opening" of the body, muscles, fascia. This optimises the parasympathetic nervous system, which is key to ones well being. There is no forcing, no pushing, no competitiveness. Body strength builds up very quickly, as does length in the muscles and a general feeling of calmness and acceptance for oneself and others.
